What is gout

Your Voice Matters

Your story could be someone else’s turning point.

If gout has changed you, challenged you, or taught you something the hard way, your experience holds more power than you realize. And someone else in this community needs to hear it.

You’ve lived what others are still trying to survive.

You’ve navigated flares, confusion, maybe even dismissal. You’ve asked questions, tried things, pushed for answers, or finally found something that worked.

That journey matters.

Not because it’s polished.
Not because it’s perfect.
But because it’s real.

And real stories are what change how people see gout, including the people still struggling in silence.

Share my story

“I once believed I had no options left. Learning that wasn’t true changed everything. Sharing my story has helped others find empathy and hope, and that makes it worth telling.”

-jen | Gout patient & GSGA Leader

What happens when you share

What we do with your story

  • We may feature it in our email series, website, or social media
  • We use stories to help other patients feel less alone and more informed
  • Occasionally, stories may inform advocacy, awareness efforts, or educational initiatives

What we don’t do

  • We never sell your story
  • We never share it without your permission
  • We never change your words to say something you didn’t mean.

You stay in control

  • You can choose to share your name or stay anonymous
  • You can approve edits before publication
  • You can tell us where you’re comfortable being featured
  • You can change your mind later
I'm ready to share

This is your story.
You decide how it’s shared.

Advocacy

Your story doesn’t have to stop at being heard.

Your story is the first step in becoming a GSGA Ambassador.  After you submit your story, you’ll have the option to learn more about patient advocacy, if that’s something that interests you.

There’s no pressure.
But for some people, sharing their story is just the beginning of helping reshape how gout is understood and treated.

take the first step

Let’s change the game, together.

Consider being a part of something bigger

You don’t have to have your gout “perfectly managed” to be a powerful advocate. You just have to care.
